How to have a productive day...

Do you want to be in the same league as the world's most prolific and successful people? Then you should do these things to make the most of your morning. The rest of your day will be highly productive and fruitful if you do so.

1.  Plan the night before.

Because we only have so much willpower and decision-making abilities in the morning, you want to avoid as many decision-making duties as possible. This is why, at the conclusion of each day,

American Express CEO Kenneth Chenault jots down the three tasks he wants to do the next day.

It also explains why Mark Zuckerberg and Barack Obama's clothes were limited.

"As you can see, I only wear gray or blue suits." I'm attempting to make fewer choices. I don't want to think about what I'm going to eat or what I'm going to wear. President Barack Obama told Vanity Fair, "I have too many other decisions to make."

You will save brain space and be more productive throughout the day if you have fewer decisions to make.

2.  Wake up refreshed.

You won't be able to have a productive day if you don't feel refreshed when you wake up. Consider the times when you only received four hours of sleep. You've been dragging all day.

Establish a bedtime ritual in which you limit or avoid stimulants such as alcohol, coffee, and screens before going to bed. Instead, meditate or read for a peaceful and restful evening. Also, make it a habit to go to bed at the same time each night.

Your bedroom should be dark and silent as much as possible. It should be a touch chilly as well. This way, you'll get a full night's sleep and wake up rejuvenated and ready to tackle the day.

 3.  Set a daily intention.

Setting your daily objective is like laying out your day ahead of time. Set your aims for the day in the early hours of the day, when things are calmer, and you have a chance to think clearly. Focus on at least two goals that you want to achieve for the day. Do you have some spare time? Make a list of your goals on post-its and bring them to work with you so you're reminded of your objectives.

That last aspect is something I'd want to emphasize. Writing down your goals has been shown to help you attain them.

3.   Daily affirmations

"Affirmations," explains Choncé Maddox, "are short, strong, yet simple phrases intended to assist you realize a certain objective." "Positive thinking has a lot of power, and reciting some positive affirmations simply takes a few minutes."

4.  Avoid your phone.

When you first wake up, don't go straight to your emails, texts, or social media. This will assist you in losing focus. Worse, it robs you of your time and provides it to others.

Spend these valuable initial moments of the day doing something soothing, such as walking your dog, meditating, or reading. This will help set a peaceful and good tone for the rest of the day, rather than a frantic start.

Avoid using your phone until after you've had breakfast, even if it takes some willpower.

5.  Schedule your day.

Do you want to complete all of your tasks? After then, double-check that they're in your calendar.

"If it's not in my calendar, it won't be done," says entrepreneur and author Dave Kerpen. But if it's on my to-do list, it'll get done."

"I set aside 15 minutes every day to have meetings, examine materials, write, and complete any tasks I need to complete." And, while I meet with pretty much everybody who wants to meet with me, I only set aside one hour per week for these 'office hours.'"

Also remember to include breaks and lunch in your agenda.

6.  Network over coffee.

Yes. Coffee is beneficial to your health. So, while you're sipping your morning coffee, do some networking. You could, for example, use LinkedIn or Twitter to interact with coworkers. Meetings with possible business partners or investors could also be scheduled.

7.  Eat the frog.

"Eat a live frog first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day," says Brian Tracy, author of "Eat the Frog."

Obviously, this does not imply that you eat a frog. "Your largest, most important work, the one you're most likely to procrastinate on unless you do something about it," says the frog. This doesn't just linger over our heads as the day progresses; we also have less energy to perform this activity.

Don’t put this task off until later in the day. Tackle it first thing in the morning and get it done.
